Papapmoa Week

Last week, we were lucky enough to visit Sue (Rhiannon’s Mom) and John in Papamoa, near Tauranga.  We were spoiled with delicious food, comfortable beds and fantastic company! As if that weren’t enough, their home backs on to the beach :)  This photo is standing on the deck of their house.

While visiting with Sue and John, we climbed (half hiked/half ran) up Mount Maunganui. 

Later that day, we took surf lessons at Hibiscus Surf School one afternoon – which was my first time surfing!!  It was a tonne of fun.  (I wasn’t particularly good but it was a great time!)  Kyle got some great tips from our instructor to build on his week of surfing in Hawaii.  Later in the week, we rented surf boards to practice our skills.

We also climbed the Papamoa hills and got absolutely soaked!!  The hills are inland and give a great view of the Papapmoa coastline.

A huge thanks to Sue and John for hosting us!  We had a FANTASTIC time!
